We're Having a Baby!

Well... sorta.

Why is it that most simulators look like the "average" male: 5"10', 70kg?  Well, that's what we've always learned on.  I remember in medical school learning about this "average" male. I've been in practice for 20 years, and my average patient rarely meets this description.

So, it would stand to reason that in order to improve realism, we should have different shapes and sizes of mannequins, right?  However, the the issue is that a mechanical mannequin can't really change from a man to a 11 year old girl.  You have to buy another simulator.  Multiple patient types means multiple simualtors and more expense, space, maintenance.

Until now.

Perhaps you've wondered why we called our affordable, portable and realistic patient simulator, "PerSim" (which, as you may have surmised, is short for Person Simulator).  We have always intended to provide multiple patient types to our customers. After careful consideration, we've decided to start our expansion with a patient type that increases anxiety for everyone: an infant.

Meet "the baby" -- it's cute, it cries, it has respiratory distress and other realisitic depictions of emergency medical conditions.  And it will be available in the coming weeks.

Best of all? At MedCognition, we believe that pre-hospital providers deserve to train with the very best training aids that are also affordable. PerSim Baby will cost owners of the PerSim system exactly nothing. Zilch. Nada. $0. PerSim Baby is included in our base package of animations and models and will flow via our online update system to all owners of the PerSim system in the coming weeks. But we're not stopping there.  Stay tuned for announcements regarding two additional models we're developing over the coming months.

We believe that affordable, portable, realistic simulation can help per-hospital providers give the very best care to acutely ill patients during that first link in the chain of care. MedCognition is leveraging the latest in Mixed Reality technology to bring you, the pre-hospital provider, cutting edge simulation to help you provide better care to your patients.
